How does Stress affect you?
Stress affects everyone in different ways. Some will show it visibly, whilst others can put on a ‘brave face’ and smile that no-one could possibly guess the underlying suffering. Are you one of those? Some may talk about it with friends, however others may get home from work and hit the fridge and eat their way through the evening unconscious of what they are eating or doing.
Here’s a few questions to determine if you feel you may be stressed.
I eat at least one hot, balanced meal a day.
I get 7 to 8 hours of sleep at least 4 nights a week .
I get regular exercise(at least twice a week).
I spend time in fresh air regularly.
I do not smoke.
I drink less than 5 alcoholic drinks a week.
I avoid caffeine or soda drinks.
I am in good overall health.
I feel proud & beautiful when I look in the mirror.
I am the appropriate weight for my height.
I like to do fun things at least once a week.
I jump out of bed in the morning feeling good about the day ahead.
I have a vision board and/or goals for life.
I have someone I can talk with about my feelings, and what’s on my mind.
I have a network of friends, family and acquaintances nearby on whom I can rely.
I am able to speak openly about my feelings when angry, stressed or worried.
I am able to speak for myself if someone crosses my boundaries, or is hurtful towards me.
I have ‘ME’ time regularly (eg. Run a bath, pampering, meditation etc.)
I feel calm when in traffic, queuing, running late or when I receive emails from work on my day off?
I have an income adequate to meet my basic expenses.
I enjoy my commute to work.
I never try to do everything myself.
I live in the now, not in the past or the future.
I feel organized and in control.
I never race through a day.
I recognize when I am not coping well under pressure.
I have a good balance in life work .. rest .. and play.
I give gratitude each day for my blessings in life.
If you’ve answers NO to a lot of these questions you may be suffering from Stress.
