How much noise is in your head right now?  Is some of it your excuses?

Do you ever just feel that you want to move forward in life yet all you can hear in your head is excuses like ‘But I can’t’, ‘But the bills’, ‘But I’ve no time’, But I don’t know how to’…. But .. but .. but.. and thus you don’t do anything and you feel stuck, angry and frustrated with all your excuses.

Well “You can either do nothing, or you can do something”

– Which feels freer to you?

I’ve been there before and I remember how it felt and how much time and energy it took up in my life. I recently came across this again whilst working with a client and thought I’d share some ideas on how to deal with ‘But’ in our lives.

‘But’ is our excuses!

Where are you saying ‘but’ in your life  – I’d like to go on holidays ‘but’ I don’t have a friend/boyfriend to go with me, I want to change career ‘but’ I don’t have money, I want to do more exercise and be healthier ‘but’ I don’t have the time.

‘Excuses’ is not our friend – it’s like the friend who doesn’t want the best for us and for us to keep us stay playing small and weak. Excuses doesn’t help us get what we want in life and what we desire.

Therefore perhaps we need to de-friend excuses right this moment!

Are you willing to de-friend ‘Excuses today?

To never hear from ‘Excuses’ ever again?

How much would this mean to you?

Can you already start to see how positive changes can happen for you when you de-friend Excuses?

As they same some friends come or a day, a week or even a year and usually to teach us something or pass on a message –  Has Excuses out-lived your relationship?

Why would you like to continue being friends and listening to that draining voice in your head day after day from the minute you get up to the time you go to bed at night?

The constant chatter is draining your life essence and your energy.

Are you ready to move forward in your life?

Imagine what you could do with that extra energy and no distractions.

Perhaps you could now have space for a new friend in your life.

This friend could be called ‘Expansion’

‘Expansion’ would have a different ending to the statements above.

‘Expansion’ may say the following:-

I’d like to go on holidays and I have lots of options of going on yoga retreats/detox breaks at home or abroad and meeting likeminded interesting folk along the way or I could travel around Asia and meet other fellow nomads (I’ve done this and best way to meet other folk is travelling solo). Also by travelling solo my increase my confidence, which is always a wonderful a bonus.

OR

I want to change career so I’ll start reading books, educating myself online and attending webinars and volunteering in the industry to gain experience. Thus by focusing more on this, which is really what I want, I will save money as i will be out socialising less AND I will feel pride within.

OR

I want to do more exercise so I will prioritise this in my life, and I will create the time even if it’s just 15 mins every day. I can get my kids involved in walks, taking them to the swimming pool and practicing yoga at home with them which gives me a double bonus of getting to work out AND spend quality time with the kids AND I will feel more energised and balanced.

How do these statements make you feel?

More expanded?

Like you have more options?

Try to implement this today into your thinking.
