Simplify Your Life in 5 easy steps in 2019

First we may ask ‘Why’ should we simplify our lives?  To Make SPACE!

We simplify our lives to free ourselves from heavy energetic weights and thus make space for what we do wish to draw into our lives.

A few years ago my motto for the year was ‘lighten up’.

This was meant for all areas of my life and including my personality, as I felt heavy and lacking energy at that time.

This motto continued into the following years as I felt I still had some more ‘lightening up’ to do each year.

As time passed things changed a lot.

Physically I took control of my back pain by toning up my body thus lightening up the weight on my pelvis(and ever since I have had no back pain! yay!).

At home, I decluttered nearly everything. I gave away all my books, CD’s, DVD’s and most of my clothes to family, friends and anyone to wanted them. Some of the books were not even read and ones I would probably still buy yet I felt lighter than I had in many years.

So Here’s my 7 Steps to simplifying our lives:-

1. Wardrobe –

Take a moment to reflect on some of the beautiful items in your wardrobe that you have never worn, yet don’t fully understand ‘why’ you have not worn it.  Well, it’s this. The energy of how we feel at the moment we buy something stays on the item.

Many of us have clothes in our wardrobes that we rarely, or never wear, yet it’s something we would buy again if we didn’t have it. Why is this? Research shows that women tend to go shopping when we are a little ‘down in the dumps’. We buy something to cheer us up but rarely wear that item as we can feel the energy from it unconsciously, and so it doesn’t make us feel good.

Many things can effect our emotional state including the weather, our weight/diet, relationship etc. and so to ‘feed’ the emotional void we stuff more things into our lives, including into our wardrobes.

When I did my big decluttering there was lots of clothes that still had the label on them and never worn!

I walked away with one backpack on my back and one spare bag for ‘winter clothes/coat’ and even since have continued to keep it simple.

Simplify Action: Clear out anything in your wardrobe that does not make you feel absolutely amazing! Including Clothes, Shoes, Jewellery, Belts, Bags, Hats, Scarves etc.

2. Weight –

Own it if you’ve created it. Acceptance is the first step. Then you can start doing something about it and there’s lots of help at hand these days.

By now I’m sure you have heard of people doing detoxing programmes to cleanse their health. These are especially good for nearly everyone with amazing feel good and vitality benefits thereafter. Or perhaps a ‘retreat’ at home or the sun which are usually associate with yoga, walking, exercise and lots of rest and there are plenty of them here in Spain.

However if you do not have the funds to get to a retreat you can keep it simple!. YES, we can do it in our own homes (albeit with a little discipline).

Trying creating your own detox programme by writing out a chart with a pen and paper. Creating your own programme, your food diary in advance, what exercises you will do, meditations, new daily habits etc.  Add timeframe whether it be a weekend, a week or a month and set your own manageable targets.

“Nothing changes, if nothing changes”

The feel good satisfaction of achievement and pride that goes with it after a few days will motivate you to complete your own self detox. And you can encourage a friend to do it also you gain an accountability buddy, or perhaps ask someone to hold you accountable that you will check in with daily.  There are also many online programmes to keep you in check too.

Simplify Action: Ditch the excess weight on your Body, Mind and Spirit!

3. Friends & Relationships –

People come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.  Who are you still holding onto that perhaps their message for you has been delivered? Has your time passed?

Always there: How many ‘real’ friends do you have that will jump in a taxi and be there for you in a flash? How many friends hold your hand, listen without judgement, and share their world with you also?  Sometimes these type of friends you might not be in contact for days, weeks or even months but these are the ones that you ring and pick up where you left off.

Uplifting or Depressing: Consider the friends that energetically drain you to the ones that support you and lift you up. How do you feel around these friends. What is your true reason to hold on to them? Can you share your dreams with them?

Simplify Action: Ditch anyone in your life who’s time has passed, superficial, or lowering your vibe and keeping you playing small in life!

4. Social Media –

Nowadays, we all spend a lot of time in front of social media with nearly everyone having their own devices, or even multiple devices, personalised to what we wish to see, hear and know.

So consider the vibration of what you like to watch or listen to? Does it light you up, make you feel positive? Is there someone on your Social Media that irritates or annoys you? As you see these irritations take action and block them or defriend them. Know that when you do use that Social Media app in future that it will be a happy place to visit.

When was the last time you switched off all your devices for a day, or even a few days?  There are so many reports coming to the surface of how our gadets are impacting our health.  We don’t even need a report to confirm it.  Try switching off for a few days from phones, computers, television, radio etc and enjoy the peace as your body restores itself to it’s highest vibration possible.

Simplify Action: Clear out any ‘dead’ contacts on your phone, or email or friends lists. Remove any social media feeds, magazines, books and newsfeeds that do not light you up and increase your vibration and make you feel happier.

5. Possessions

We all tend to collect numerous ‘bits and pieces’ along our lifes journey and some ‘bits’ that are .

The times I felt most free in life was when I was travelling and whilst in-between places I had no keys. No keys for a transport, no keys for a place to rest that night.   Everyday we pick up our keys, our phones, our wallets like they are a part of us. It is liberating to be naked – to not have possessions attached to us all the time.   That is not to say the homeless feel this way. That is an entirely different topic. I choose to simplify my life which is very different to having nothing at all and without choice.

Handbags ladies! What in the world are you carrying around every day? I have many clients with back, neck & shoulder and even tennis elbow from clasping onto that handbag every day.  Enjoy the liberation of simplifying your handbag, or even ditching it.

Simplify Action: Review your “Always On’ possessions.  Can you leave them behind when you go for a walk and just bring your front door key?  Ditch or free up the handbag to simplify and take the weight off your shoulders too.

Keep It Simple

Simplifying your life can keep the energy free and moving AND make space for new energies to come into your world.

I treat a lot of folk with back pain carrying energetic weight. As mentioned earlier, my back pain never reoccured. Perhaps energetically I was also carrying quite an ‘energetic’ load on my back until I detoxed and simplified my life.

Life is much lighter when simplified. Surround yourself with beautiful items that lift your vibration lifts when your senses connect with them.

I feel I have a much richer life keeping it simple. As a friend quotes sometimes we are ‘Blessed with Less’.

So, perhaps it’s time you cleansed your life. Declutter and simplify your possessions. Detox your life both physically, at home and all sectors of your life.

Perhaps it time you clear out the excess in your life.

Keep it simple.
